Annapurna
range of mountains is the choice of many trekkers; all the more it has some of
the world's highest mountain peaks including Annapurna which is the 10th
highest. Like every other mountain in the Himalayan range the foothills are
subjugated by various cultural groups with their delightful villages and
terraced farms which is common in the mountains.
While trekking, you will come across many viewpoints
from where you can gaze the renowned Himalayan Mountains. In addition, the
trekking expedition gives a deeper insight into the Nepalese mountain
lifestyle, ethnic diversity and a sense of adventure in the Himalayas.
The
Annapurna Base Camp trek is one of the well-liked treks in the Annapurna region
after MT. Everest. The trekking track goes flanking terraced rice paddies, lush
green forests, and beautiful landscapes, with the Annapurna Range in view constantly.
The
physical and mental requirements for the trek are very demanding and not for
the weak hearted, people who are practically fit and have immense stamina can
do this trek with little difficulty. When
you reach high up in the mountains, you have the possibility of extremely
chilly nights with your temporary room only offering limited protection from
the cold and wild animals prowling for food. The facilities provided are
actually not that bad considering you are high up in the mountains where there
are little to no resources to work with, nonetheless, with the right attitude
you will learn to adjust with it fairly quickly. If you are absolutely sure
that you can withstand these harsh climatic voids, then trekking is definitely
worth every step and you will have an experience of a lifetime.
The Annapurna base camp trek trail is not difficult
to navigate as it is marked clearly and therefore can be done independently if
you so desire. However, hiring a guide and/or porter is always better to
contribute to the local economy and most importantly; they will share their
local knowledge with you which is essential. In addition, if you get some
knowledge from the local people who are experienced and know a heck of a lot
about mountain and how to survive in these harsh conditions. It next to
impossible to navigate in these treacherous conditions, having a guide is
imperative.
